Domes of Elounda is open from April to late October of each year, for seven months of guaranteed good weather. Even in April and October, it’s dry and warm, with average temperatures during those two colder months at 18-21C – and much more nearer to the summer. As for rainfall, expect just 1mm of rain each August and July, with slightly more in June and May.

Sun-kissed and almost tropical, Elounda has the most desirable climate in Greece, with seven months of perfect temperatures, gentle summer breezes and dazzling sunshine guaranteed. Beyond that, with its concave ceilings, Domes of Elounda’s curved, dome-focused architecture provides an natural cooling element – it’s not just an aesthetic consideration.

In fact, Elounda boasts its own microclimate, with dry summers thanks to the gentle breeze that rolls off the sea – so it’s never too hot or too cold. Specifically, the average temperature in the summer is 26C, and there are only 1.6 rainy days per month on average. No wonder Elounda, sitting on the north Cretan coastline, is considered such a coveted destination to catch the sun.

Catering to families is at the heart of the Domes of Elounda offering. That’s why we haven’t just provided services and amenities but also special facilities that were designed and built for children.

The Ofsted-registered crèche and Kids’ Club at Domes of Elounda extend to the outdoor eco-playground, where skate and BMX ramps, bowls and rails, murals and graffiti walls, and even a climbing wall capture the imagination and encourage children to be active.

At the same time, a wealth of programmes combine education with entertainment and play, all under the watchful gaze of specialised staff trained in Montessori approaches and Ofsted standards. There is a relaxing parents’ area and a shaded kids’ plunge pool too, while most of the CORE entertainment events and activities as well as our curated experiences are family friendly.

We have a total of six communal pools: five outdoor pools and one indoor pool at the spa, in addition to our private pools and jacuzzis, one of which is attached to each and every residence.

At 68.5m x 11m, the main freshwater pool is the place to be, while there are also two additional freshwater pools (one for children), and two saltwater pools, one of which part of an adults-only zone. Two of our pools are heated in April and October, while the Soma Spa offers an indoor pool, too.

Domes of Elounda boasts the only sandy beach in the area, which is safe for children and simply stunning in beauty.

Known by the name Driros Beach to locals, our private beach offers gratis sunbeds, umbrellas, parasols and mattresses for guests. There are water sports as well as quiet zones to cover everyone’s preferences, while our beach bar, Breeze All Day Beach Lounge, has you covered when it comes to drinks, beverages and snacks all day long – even perfectly chilled champagne to enjoy as you gaze at the horizon.

You certainly can, and you’ll find a diverse range of options to do so. Our fitness centre and outdoor fitness zone are fully equipped.

You can choose to work out under the dome of the bright blue sky by attending a course or one-on-one with our personal trainers. But you can also head indoors for a more immersive, high-tech experience.

Yoga, Pilates, functional training, kids’ sports and more are available on the Weekly Fitness Schedule, which you can download here.

Moreover, we have several team sport courts, including tennis, football and cricket, as well as flying fox, water sports, snorkelling, diving and more available at Domes of Elounda, so you’ll find plenty to satisfy your cravings for adrenaline.
